Accounting Policy Manager

Description

We are looking for an individual who has a strong interest in accounting guidance. This person would have an immediate impact and add provide a strong value to Clearwater by increasing transparency into the company’s adherence to accounting policy guidance through ownership of policy documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read, interpret and research accounting policy information related to STAT, TAX, IFRS, GAAP
• Stay abreast of accounting policy, regulatory changes and related corporate governance
• Write accounting policy guidelines and create supporting policy documentation for Clearwater, including adherence and support of the guidelines.
• Communicate interdepartmentally with various teams including; Sales, Client Services and Development
• Provide expertise of accounting policies both internally and externally
• Take on a supportive role over time with client engagements - supporting accounting policy discussions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 2+ years of Big Four experience or related technical accounting experience
• Experience working directly with accounting policies, accounting advisory, or a similar role
• Superb written and oral communication skills along with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently but within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and desire to strive for continuous improvement

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• CPA, Public accounting or industry experience
• Experience working with Investment Accounting Policy
• Understanding of Insurance Accounting (STAT, TAX, IFRS, GAAP)
